Understanding PEMF
PEMF stands for pulsed electromagnetic field. CANIS 1 delivers a low-level pulsed electromagnetic field through the mat surface. It's passive and non-invasive — your dog lies on it the way he'd lie on any mat, and a session runs on a timer from the external controller.
If your dog has arthritis, another medical condition, or an implanted medical device, ask your veterinarian about suitability before use.
Why PEMF? Read the research.
PEMF has been studied in peer-reviewed veterinary research. These studies examine PEMF as a method, they did not test CANIS 1. Journal, year, design and sample size below. Read them yourself.
Published studies use different frequencies, field strengths, waveforms, devices, coil geometries and treatment schedules from each other and from CANIS 1. A study using one PEMF protocol does not prove CANIS 1 produces the same outcome.

Technical transparency
CANIS publishes specifications only once we have sufficient production documentation or product verification. We've confirmed a 1-100 Hz adjustable frequency range, a maximum field strength of 25 Gauss (2.5 mT), 4- or 8-coil full-body configuration depending on mat size, square waveform, and adjustable field intensity.
Early documentation for CANIS 1 gave two figures for maximum field strength, 25 Gauss and 0.25 mT, that didn't convert to each other. We've since confirmed 25 Gauss (2.5 mT) as the correct figure. Distance-based magnetic-field measurements and an independent output test report are not currently available.

What is CANIS 1?
CANIS 1 is an at-home PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field) mat for dogs. It's designed to fit into your dog's normal rest routine — no heat, no vibration, timed sessions run from an external controller.
What happens during a session?
Your dog lies on the mat in a familiar resting spot. Once he's settled, you start a timed session from the external controller and follow the product instructions. There's no handling needed once the session begins.
Does it produce heat or vibration?
No. CANIS 1 produces neither heat nor vibration.
How do I choose a size?
Measure your dog's normal resting footprint and the floor space where the mat will go, then compare that to the three available sizes above. We can't recommend a size by breed or weight alone, every dog rests differently.
Does my dog need to change his normal routine?
No. CANIS 1 is designed to sit inside a familiar home routine. Place the mat where your dog already likes to rest, let him settle, then use the controller according to the product instructions.
What if my dog doesn't want to lie on it?
Give him time to investigate it naturally. You can place CANIS 1 in a familiar resting area and let him choose to settle on it. Do not force him onto the mat.
Is it suitable for a dog with arthritis?
CANIS 1 isn't a treatment for arthritis or any other condition. If your dog has arthritis, another medical condition, or an implanted medical device, ask your veterinarian about suitability before use.
Does it replace veterinary care?
No. CANIS 1 is not a substitute for veterinary care. Follow your veterinarian's advice.
How do I use it and how long are sessions?
Setup and session length are covered in the product instructions that come with CANIS 1. Use the external controller to run a timed session as directed.
